MILTON & PATTI PETERS
Milton Peters and Patti Peters, the Founders, had their individual successful careers in different fields.
Milton worked in the Fertilizer industry and started his career at Shaw Wallace and later joined Indian Potash Ltd., at Chennai. He was re-located to Bangalore and then to Mumbai. During his tenure in Mumbai, where he was overseeing Maharashtra and Goa, he conducted a few medical camps for underprivileged individuals.
Patti started her career at Greaves Cotton in Chennai and moved to Bangalore where she looked after Administration and HR in Greaves Mid-West Engineering Co., In Bombay she worked for Britannia, Ceat Ltd., and the UB Group. Her compassionate nature inspired her to help the poor and volunteer with a few charitable organizations both in Bangalore and Bombay.
After retiring, the Peters decided to continue helping the poor and less fortunate. They initially started off with helping about half a dozen families. Their initiatives grew into a full-fledged organization. In May 2009 the HOPE FOR THE HOPELESS Trust was registered and put on-stream. A generous and kind-hearted couple, their tireless efforts resulted in the many initiatives of the Trust. With their commitment and dedication to helping the underprivileged, they have truly become an inspiration to the people around them.
MALLIKA PAULINE MICHAEL
Mallika came on board as Member Trustee in Oct 2013. She started her career with Air India, New Delhi and worked with them for a decade. When the family relocated to Chennai, she began working in the software industry. A mother of two wonderful children she is now a homemaker, and organizes and oversees events for her church, and family and friends in her spare time. She is a great travel-guide and well-versed in all things ‘Chennai.’ Coming from a family that strongly values working for social causes and helping the downtrodden, she is delighted to carry on the tradition by working with ‘Hope for the Hopeless’. Her husband Vijay Michael is very supportive of her work and actively involves himself in some projects. While working for this cause, she aims to bridge the gap between those who have and those who do not. A very meticulous person and an excellent planner, she brings a lot of value to the initiatives of HFTH, especially in the areas of event planning and finances, which makes her an asset to the HFTH family.
L. DOMINIC SAVIO
Dominic has joined us recently as Financial Advisor. A Graduate of Commerce from Loyola College Chennai, he is an Associate Member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India since 1984. Although he is employed full-time, as the CFO at Loyola College Society, he has agreed to come onboard to nurture the HFTH Trust. Dominic has worked in the corporate sector for thirty years in Finance and Commercial Management of large sized companies of SPIC Group. He is currently in charge of Financial Management and Administration of the entire Loyola campus assisting the top management of the Society in Financial Governance. He also has experience with organising medical camps and legal camps for the poor. His self-motivation and highly driven personality will prove to be an asset for the HFTH Trust
VANITHA SANJIVI
Vanitha has recently joined us as Project Co-ordinator.
Having completed her Masters in Social Work from a reputed college in Chennai, she worked as a teacher when she moved to North India after marriage. Teaching was a profession which gave her a lot of satisfaction. Her other interests include gardening and reading.
The family relocated to Chennai a few years back. Once back home, she worked at Little Flower Convent, an institution for the welfare of the visually challenged women for a period of five years. Her role as Project coordinator for 'Satya Jothi Project' at Little Flower Convent gave her a platform to establish a good rapport with the visually challenged women and also work towards their rehabilitation.
Family commitments compelled her to stop working full time.
However her passion to help the socially deprived drew her to this cause and we are happy to have her join us.
We have a quiet, simple, well organised and efficient person in Vanitha and her expertise will be of great help in organising our various welfare projects.
